Fantastic Review of Malachy McKenna’s ‘The Quiet Land’

August 27th, 2015 by admin

The Quiet Land, written by the talented Malachy McKenna, directed by Bairbe Ní Chaoimh and starring Des Keogh & Derry Power received a glowing review from nomoreworkhorse.com. The play was “richly rewarding” and “you are unlikely to see a better production.”

The Quiet Land, winner of the PJ O’Connor Radio Drama Award 2014,  is a celebration of the humour, resilience and endearing innocence of an exiled generation as it struggles to survive in the isolated rural Ireland of today. It is Malachy McKenna’s heartfelt tribute to a rare breed of forgotten men who live a long way in off the road..

This “beautifully paced production” is currently running at Bewleys Cafe Theatre, Powerscourt until September 5th. “It is a perfect piece for lunchtime or anytime” Make sure to reserve your tickets at  http://www.bewleyscafetheatre.com/events/the-quiet-land
